The Arts and Culture in Education Research Repository (ACERR) is Ireland’s national open-access repository for research and creative practice in arts and culture in education.
Launched on September 2019, the ACERR supports the principles of both the Arts in Education Charter (2012), and the Creative Ireland Programme by providing a trusted platform for preserving, sharing, and promoting research, resources, and creative outputs from across the arts and education sectors. The repository is guided by a steering group representing more than ten national cultural and educational organisations.
Being a member of the Digital Repository of Ireland (DRI), supports the long-term preservation and accessibility of materials contributed by researchers, educators, artists, cultural organisations, and higher education institutions. The repository hosts a wide range of freely accessible media, with the goal of helping researchers disseminate their research, inform policy and practice, and increase public engagement with arts and culture in education.
The development of ACERR is currently funded by the Department of Education and Youth.
The Creative Ireland Programme is the Irish Government’s national creativity and wellbeing programme. It places creativity at the centre of public policy and supports participation in culture and creative activity as a means of enhancing individual, community, and national wellbeing. The programme aims to enable people of all ages to realise their creative potential.
